Google map as situating tool

A situating tool is a learning resource that helps students connect classroom knowledge with real-world environments. These tools allow users to explore locations, understand spatial relationships and apply what they learn in meaningful contexts. Examples include digital maps, simulations and virtual tours. They make learning more practical and interactive by placing learners in realistic settings, which enhances engagement and understanding.

One widely used situating tool is google maps. It is an online map platform that helps users explore and understand the physical world in a detailed and interactive way. Google maps have many useful features that support both daily use and educational purposes. It allows users to view and navigate different places around the world, measure the distance between locations and get directions for walking, driving, cycling or using public transportation. It also provides real-time traffic updates and helps locate nearby services such as hospitals, schools, restaurants and shops. In addition, users can save favorite places and create custom maps, which supports personalized learning and planning.

These features make google maps not just a tool navigation, but a powerful learning aid. For example, learners can use it to measure the distances from to school, understand their surroundings or explore places they read about in class. In subjects like geography, it helps learner visualize landforms, directions and environments. It is also useful for planning field trips, allowing learner and educators to preview the location and routes beforehand.

Most importantly, google maps bridges the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. Concepts such as map reading, directions and spatial awareness become more meaningful when students can apply them to real-life situations. It supports problem-solving and helps develop digital and navigation skills that are essential in today’s world.

In conclusion, Google maps is an effective situating tool that supports both teaching and learning. It connects classroom content to the real world, enhances student understanding and encourages active engagement. By integrating such tools in education, teachers can create more interactive and relevant learning experiences. As digital technology continues to evolve, tools like google maps will remain important in shaping modern and meaningful education.

Informative tool

VLE (Virtual Learning environment) as an informative tool

Important Announcement

Lecture Note

Informative tools are platforms or resources that help individuals learn by providing clear, relevant and accessible information. These tools come in many forms, including books, images, videos, website and apps. One prominent example of an informative tool in education is Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). A VLE is an online platform designed to support and enhance the teaching and learning process through the use of digital technology. It enables teachers to share instructional materials, assignments and announcement, while allowing learners to access learning content at their own convenience. based on my personal experience, the VLE has played a significant role in my educational journey, offering both advantages and challenges in the context of technology enhanced learning.

One of the major strengths of using a VLE is its ease of accessibility. All the necessary learning materials, such as lecture note, reading resources and assignments are uploaded to the platform, making them available anytime and from anywhere. This feature has been particularly needs of them. For instance, when preparing for exams or completing homework, I can simply log into the VLE and access the required materials without having to depend on physical handouts or classroom availability. Moreover, the platform is regularly updated with important announcement related to college events, academic schedules and programs details, keeping me well-formed and organized.

Despite its many benefits, my experience with the VLE has not been without difficulties. One of the recurring issues I encountered was related to internet connectivity, Although the colleges WI-FI is generally functional, there times when it becomes very slow or stop working altogether, especially when many students are using it simultaneously. These technical challenges made it difficult to download large files, video lessons and submit assignment on time. Additionally, when I had to rely on mobile data from home, I sometimes struggled with limited data availability, which further delayed my academic work and affected my overall productivity.

Nevertheless, using a VLE has significantly contributed to my learning and helped me adjust to new ways of studying. It has encouraged me to become more independent, mange my time effectively, and develop digital skills that are crucial in the 21st century classroom. This experience has given me valuable insights into how technology can be both a tool for empowerment and a source of difficulty, depending on how it is implemented and accessed.

As I Continue to grow as a future teacher, I am determined to apply the lessons I have learned from my own experience with the VLE. I aim to use technology in a way that supports the learning of all students, ensuring that it is inclusive accessible and equitable.
